Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about murals: FAQ

Your mural project

How does a project work?
  1. You think through your idea : the surface to paint and its dimensions (e.g. 8 m × 3 m), a theme, your budget and your timeline.
  2. You contact us via the form or on +32 488 56 59 55. We discuss your project.
  3. We draw the design : a sketch for you to approve.
  4. We paint : the surroundings are protected and the mural is painted before your eyes.
  5. We add the finishing touches and clean up.
Do you travel outside Belgium?

Yes, subject to prior agreement on travel costs, and accommodation if needed.

How many artists work on a project?

Usually a team of two or three. For a small project, one artist is enough.

We’re a non-profit: how does it work?

Tell us who you are, what you have in mind (workshop, course, participatory mural, themed decoration), who it’s for, what it’s for, when, where and your budget. We check feasibility, then send you a proposal.

Do you also paint on canvas?

Occasionally, mainly for exhibitions. Some pieces may be for sale.

Mural prices and lead times

How much should I budget?
€500Minimum for a piece, e.g. simple lettering or a logo on a 3 m × 2 m wall
€1,000Starting price for a trompe-l’œil

The price depends on the time needed to create the sketch, the size of the wall, the painting time and the materials. The quote is free.

How long does a mural take?

It depends on the size and difficulty. Lettering usually takes 3 to 6 hours, a trompe-l’œil 1 to 3 days, longer if it is very large.

Paint & surfaces

Are the paints toxic?

Our standard spray paints are solvent-based: indoors, ventilate the room well and don’t sleep in it the first night. After 24 hours, the smell has almost completely gone.

For a child’s bedroom, we also offer water-based, odourless spray paints, which are slightly more expensive.

Which surfaces can be painted?

Any surface, as long as it is primed: bare walls, wood and fabric soak up paint. The right base coat keeps the colours looking good over time. We can prepare and prime your wall on request.

Live painting & graffiti workshops

What is live painting?

A mural painted live in front of an audience, at a set time and place: festival, company party, wedding, birthday. For temporary pieces, we often paint on stretched plastic film (cellograff), which is light and easy to transport.

Graffiti course or workshop: what’s the difference?

Both introduce you to spray painting. A course runs over several consecutive days, a workshop takes a single day or a series of separate sessions. From age 8. See our workshops.
